How Your Donations Help

Your donations have helped to fill a void with positive, meaningful, and important things needed by spinal cord individuals, their family or caregivers to get them through the day. If what we do brightens their day or night in any way, we have succeeded in our mission.

Oftentimes when insurance doesn’t cover these types of things, runs out or worse yet – there is no insurance, everyday tasks that use to be so simple before injury are no longer doable without special equipment.

The types of things we are able to do with your donations range from the purchase of vans and equipping them with wheelchair accessible lifts or controls, to wheelchairs or even just a remote control that allows a paralyzed person to change TV channels or turn the volume up or down.

Donations have assisted us with providing many other things we take for granted like being able to go to the bathroom. Your donations have helped enlarge existing bathrooms so they are safe and wheel chair accessible, we’ve also assisted with relocating families from an apartment where the wheel chair wouldn’t fit through the bathroom door to one that was ADA compliant.

With your donations we have been able to work with sponsors such as XXX to buy used vans and have them equipped for an individual to at least be able to ride to a destination or even drive themselves.

Can you image what it must feel like as a child not to be able to get on the school bus or worse yet, go to school at all? Donations to the Kim Patek Foundation have helped get kids back in school. Getting back to school or back to work provides spinal cord patients with a reason for getting out and getting on with their lives even though their lives will be forever changed.

Ever feel like a prisoner in your own home? Your donations have built ramps that enabled spinal cord injury individuals to go in and out of their own home and obtain wheelchairs that liberate them from a car or bed.
Help us help those in need with adaptive gear for vehicles, assistive technology products that enable people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and enhance their quality of life, home modification, or wheelchairs provide a new freedom for a spinal cord injury patient.

All of these things have and will continue to make a huge difference in the daily life of a spinal cord injury individual. Help us make another person’s life just a little bit brighter and better today with your donation today.
